TESO — Verify. Trust. Transact.

Ghana has world-class brands. The scammers are drowning them out.

The tailors, the kitchens, the tech shops, the designers, some of the best in Africa are here. But every fake page makes buyers trust real ones less. TESO verifies Ghanaian businesses and puts them in front of people ready to buy, at home and abroad.

If you're buying in Ghana

Chale, how many times will they scam us?

Three things happening to Ghanaian businesses right now.

Someone builds a copy of your business

You spend years building your name. Then someone opens a page with your handle, one letter different. Your photos. Your prices. Your captions. Customers who think they're buying from you send deposits to a stranger's momo. You find out when they arrive at your shop asking where their order is, and you're the one who looks like a thief. You didn't get scammed. Your name did.

Your Google listing gets taken

This one happens every day, and it hits the biggest names hardest, the restaurants and shops everyone knows. Someone gets into the business profile and changes one thing: the phone number. Everything else stays. Your name, your address, your reviews, your years of work. Customers search you, call the number Google shows them, order, pay, and get blocked. Most owners only find out when angry customers start arriving.

Pages that never sold anything at all

Clean page, thousands of followers, comments full of praise. All bought. There is no shop, no stock, nobody. They collect deposits until the noise starts, then delete and reopen next month under a new name.

And here is the part that costs you most.

Standing next to those pages, your real business looks exactly the same. Same layout, same photos, same promises. The customer cannot tell the difference, so they trust nobody, and the whole market pays for it.

The purchasing power is already here. They just need a business they can trust.

They want the tailor, the furniture, the food, the gift delivered to their mother's house. They want to buy from you. But sending money to a vendor they can't verify from London, New York, or Berlin is a gamble they won't take twice.

Teso means reduce. That's the whole idea.

Long before anybody had a shop, we traded. Salt for gold, cloth for kola, across the Sahara and down to the coast. Price was never a fixed number on a tag. It was a conversation, two people finding the middle, and the deal held because you were standing in front of each other.

That's still how we buy. Walk into any market in Ghana today and you'll hear it: reduce am small for me. It isn't rudeness. It's the oldest commerce we have.

Ghanaians are managing, and managing well. People work hard for what they have and they know the value of every cedi.

But no Ghanaian deserves to lose that money to a page that was never real. And no vendor deserves to lose customers every day to a fake account wearing their name.

So TESO reduces two things: the price, and the risk.

Any other name is not them.

The directory

Search verified businesses, see their real details, and see the exact momo name money should go to. If the name is different, it's not them. Simple.

Here's what that means for you. When the deals page launches, the businesses already verified are the only ones on it. Your offers, in front of an audience built for buying, with no unverified competitor allowed in, no matter what they pay. The first 50 businesses aren't joining a directory. They're the launch inventory of the platform.

Instagram's tick says an account is real. The TESO Code says the business, the person, and the momo account behind it are real. That's a different question, and it's the one that costs people money.

A TESO badge without a code is fake. The badge is a prompt to check. The check is the proof. It works the same whether you're standing in the shop or sitting in Toronto.

What we verify: that a business exists, that a real identifiable person stands behind it, and that the channels and payment details on record genuinely belong to them. We do not rate product quality, pricing, or delivery speed. A TESO code tells you who you are dealing with, not how good they are at what they do.

We are verifying the first 50 businesses free for one year.

Questions

Business registration where it exists, the owner's Ghana Card, your physical location, control of your social accounts confirmed from inside them, and your momo or bank account name matched against your business.

Free for twelve months for the first 50 businesses. No card required, no hidden fee.

Instagram verifies an account. TESO verifies a business, including the payment details your customer is about to send money to.

We tell you privately and give you a chance to correct it before anything is published.

We are registering with Ghana's Data Protection Commission. Your ID documents are used to verify you and are never published. Your listing shows your trading details only.

You can still be verified. Your listing will show Verified Trader rather than Verified Business, which tells customers we confirmed who you are but not that you are formally registered.

TESO logo

Our name, and our mark

TESO is the word of the market. Reduce am small for me. The ask that starts every deal in Ghana.

Our mark is Kokuromotie, the Adinkra symbol of the thumb, shaped into a shield. The proverb says yensiane kokuromotie ho mmo po: we do not bypass the thumb to tie a knot. The thumb is the small part nothing holds without. In Ghana, a thumbprint is what makes an agreement binding. We made it a shield because that binding is what protects you.

You do not bypass the thumb to tie a knot.
You do not bypass verification to close a deal.
